Governance

The checks that happen before anything is agreed.

Compliance in commodity trading is either done properly or it is decoration. Here is what we actually do, in plain terms.
01

KYC, AML and sanctions

Every counterparty goes through Know Your Customer and Anti-Money Laundering checks before we transact. Ownership is identified, the business is understood, and the documentation is kept on file.

Sanctions screening is run against the applicable lists before a commercial relationship starts, and it is repeated rather than treated as a one-off. If a party or a route does not clear, we say so immediately instead of finding a way around it.

The framework is built to meet Estonian and European Union requirements for international trade. It is deliberately front-loaded: slower on day one, considerably faster on everything after that.

02

Anti-bribery and ethics

We operate under a strict anti-bribery and anti-corruption policy. Employees and partners are expected to conduct business with integrity and in full compliance with the applicable anti-corruption laws.

Facilitation payments are not made, in any market, for any reason. Nor is any other form of improper inducement, whether offered to us or expected of us. Where that makes a transaction impossible, the transaction does not happen.

03

Responsible sourcing

We work toward supply chains we can account for, and we prefer suppliers who take environmental and ethical responsibility as seriously as we intend to.

Our approach here is still developing, and we would rather describe it honestly than overstate it. What we commit to now is transparency about where product comes from, and reducing environmental impact where it is genuinely within our control.

04

Data and confidentiality

Business information shared with us is treated as confidential. Commercial terms, volumes and counterparty details do not travel outside the transaction they belong to.

Personal data is processed in line with applicable data protection law, including the GDPR where it applies. We collect what a transaction requires and no more, and we keep it only as long as there is a reason to.

One more thing. If something on this page conflicts with what you are being told in a conversation with us, the page is not the problem. Write to info@nzp.ee and it will be looked at.
